MRC members Tom Llewellyn, Steve Warren, Andy Mills and Nicola Pettit joined by two friends Harry Howlett and Damian Brown completed the Land’s End to John O’Groats cycle charity challenge recently.

The Ride was over 1000 miles with 60,000 ft of climbing and they did it in an incredible 6 days!

Itinerary –
Travel to Land’s End, then it was a late start due to bike set ups and start line photographs. A short 27 miles with 2000ft of climbing to the first overnight hotel.
Day 1 – 182 miles and 17,800ft of climbing.
Day 2 – 164 miles and 10,000ft of climbing.
Day 3 – 215 miles and 14,000ft of climbing
Day 4 – 165 miles and 5,751ft of climbing
Day 5 – 143 miles and 3,700ft of climbing
Day 6 – 136 miles and 6,600ft of climbing

The group put in very long days in the saddle sometimes finishing after midnight and experienced all kinds of weather en-route, high winds, rain and hot sunshine. Other challenges of mechanical breakdowns and road blocks along the way all were overcome to finish the ride.
