Come Ride with MRC!.
MRC have regular and varied club rides throughout the season, as well as ad-hoc rides posted by members at various other times throughout the week.
Most if not all of these rides head out to a cafe planned around midway in the ride.

Mondays – Gravel Monday Ride
This is as described a gravel/off road ride through local tracks and trails, usually about 40-60 miles at 12-14 mph average. These rides are posted on the ride calendar as and when arranged.
Tuesdays – Old Coggers and Chain Gang
Old Coggers rides are a group of mainly retired riders (although anyone is welcome) that ride regularly Tuesdays and Thursdays, but other days as well. All are posted on the ride calendar.
Setting off from Forest Town Arena at 9:15 a.m. Rides are 50-80 miles at around 16 mph average.
Chain Gang rides are fast tightly controlled rides on the same route every week through Woodhouse, Warsop, Thoresby, Carburton and back through Warsop to Woodhouse.
Although this is not an official MRC Club Ride, some MRC club members have created a separate ‘Strava’ group called ‘Coopers Chain Gang’ (CCG), and consists of many local riders and other club members who are not members of MRC. This club meets at The Coopers pub in Woodhouse around 6:30p.m. The route is around 25 miles at an average pace of 24+ mph. Please contact via the Strava group page for more information.
Wednesdays – WOW Gang Ride
Although technically not a club ride, this ride is every Wednesday, led by a club member.
These rides are faster paced rides and are around 60 miles at 18 mph average.
These meet at The Lurcher pub in Rainworth at 9:15.
Thursdays – Old Coggers, MRC Chain Gang and MRC Social Ride.
Old Coggers rides are a group of mainly retired riders (although anyone is welcome) that ride regularly Tuesdays and Thursdays, but other days as well. All are posted on the calendar.

MRC Chain Gang is the clubs Chain Gang event, a fast controlled ride of over 20 mph average speed. See the Ride Calendar for details of this event as it is very weather dependant.
Social Ride is as it says, a steady social ride around the same route as the Tuesday chain gang but sometimes ridden in reverse. This is where new riders usually join the club for their inaugural ride.
These meet at The Coopers pub in Woodhouse around 6:30p.m. The route is around 25 miles at an average pace of 16-18 mph.
Fridays – No regular club ride
Fridays does not have what we’d describe as a regular ride, but there is usually a ride of some sort posted on Fridays by various members depending on work commitments and the weather.

Saturdays – MRC Red & Blue Ride
These rides meet at 9:15 at The Lurcher in Rainworth (Red) and Forest Town Arena (Blue).
Each ride is 50-80 miles with the Red Ride at 18+ mph average and the Blue Ride at 16-17 mph average.
We endeavour to meet up at the same cafe so if required members can change groups there.
Sundays – MRC Blue Ride
The Sunday ride as long been the gold standard of club rides and we do get large numbers attending.
This is where we also meet new riders to introduce them to the club Sunday rides.
Setting off from Forest Town Arena at 9:00 a.m. Rides are 50-80 miles at around 16 mph average.
There are other Sunday rides for different abilities departing from various locations depending on who arranged the ride, all the information will be on the Ride Calendar.
Ad-hoc Rides
As mentioned above other rides will be posted to the Ride Calendar regularly.
100 miles and above rides are common occurrences.
Other ride outs to special events or destinations e.g. Tour of Britain, Peak District, Winnats Pass, Hills climb events.
Various Sportives are also planned e.g. Ride London, Lincoln Grand Prix, Tour of Cambridge, Matlock Top Ten, The Jester, Tommy Simpson sportive, The Dirty Reiver, Coast to Coast, Chase the sun and more. Plus off coarse our flagship event The Big Red Ride. (See Events)
There are also rides to seaside resorts, Skegness 1 way, Skegness and back, Bridlington and back.
